£35 annul membership fees to the British Humanist Association... thanks no.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Although if the ASA had ruled against it, then hopefully that would have set the precedence for getting all those religious adverts banned too :)

Be quite hard pushed to have banned it. Be interesting to see what complaints they've received about them so far.

This discussion came up on another forum I use (populated by quite a few americans) and there was general dissent that this should be allowed, with accusations of it being petty childishness and offensive.

All teh more reason for it to be done in my book

i'm not sure the ASA has a policy restricting petty childishness.

were they arguing that it was petty childishness because someone was advertising their beliefs or because they were suggesting that the people who paid for the advert didn't actually believe what they were paying to advertise and were just doing to irritate those religious types?

would they have suggested it was petty childishness if a buddhist advert had been put up?

Basically because this campaign is in response to similar campaigns run by religious organisations they saw this as being tit-for-tat pettyness, and that they should rise above it rather than taking out adverts to antagonise.

Ah, let anyone have whatever they like on the bus. I ignore it all equally.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Check my twitter stream for an awesome link regarding the busses. I'd post it here but for the iPhone's lack of copy and paste!
